Longford Town. Parent Michael (Fermanagh) & Maureen (Hegarty, Longford) Brewster.
Brothers, Pauric, Aidan, Michael, Tadgh, Fitan, and Ciaran.
Niall schooled in Convent, St Michael's Primary School, and St Mel's, All Longford Town. I started work
early, I was 16 when i worked for as I remember him. Waddie Masterson.
Waddie had a fruit and vegetable stall on Market Square, Longford Town.
I finished leaving cert and school, I went to the United States.
first job I worked at was a Busboy for Europa Restaurant on 6th Avenue. I did demolition for 6mths, and
drove horse and carriage around central park.
Came back to Longford for awhile, I worked in Lyons meat factory, Glennons Saw Mills.
I went back to the states, and drove Horses again around central park. it was 70percent Irish, that did that
job, and the rest were Italian. You had to have a medallion to ride daytime or nighttime, called day medallion and retrospectively night medallion.
amazing perks, various peoples you meet, met Mickey Rourke, Mike Myers, Ellen Barken Gabriel Byrnes wife.
and not only that, a lot of us drivers were asked to help out for a huge production of Carmen. In the metropolitan opera house.
A huge stage and production. we were asked to ride horses on the stage, they also had mock bullfight on it too. Surreal experience.
That production had one the world's most famous Tenors, of the time, Domingo.
Bill and hillary came down to congratulate us all on a great job well done, Not just theater films too.
I wasn't really finding the love of the place. Friendliness, unlike in Ireland typically , people will greet you.
Knowing you or not. I found New York to be cold, nobody talks no greetings even no eye contact.
But also since I have come back, Ireland is going that way a bit, unlike many years, ago.
At the same time, I would highly highly recommend all young people to travel.
Experience new cultures, and open mindedness to others.
When I came home to ireland again, I got a job in Dublin, LIbraries. did that for five years.
when I got transferred to Cavan. was just before the cut backs in the County Councils, and
unfortunately I fell victim to that fate my initial 6 months contract was up.
I came back to Longford Town. I got apprenticeship, with Longford leader in Journalism.
after the apprenticeship was up and i was out of work for awhile. I was chatting to Gerry Connolly. He
had a lease on a grocery shop, asked did i want to take it over.
I did, and after a while, moving thing around. i found i had a lot more space at the back. That's when i decided
to start doing Fancy Dress. You could have walked into my shop and got you bread milk and a fancy dress.
with high numbers of Longford Youth emigrating, what started as a great thing slowly ebbed away.
was 3 years ago when i left the physical shop and launched online, at myfancydress.ie.
I started to get more time to myself. i started to get into acting. while i was working in dublin, a flyer came in
looking for film extras.
I joined an agency as an extra. between days working at library and days free, I worked as an extra on
King Arthur, Tudor's, Becoming Jane, among many others.
People have always said to me to do more acting theatre, never had them time to do it or interest.
Around ten years ago now I joined the Backstage Theatre Group.
Have been doing plays with them ever since. When i closed the physical shop in 2013, gave me more time to more
what I wanted to in acting and stage. to the extent I started to do study.
I spent two years studying, in the Gaiety Theatre. Gaiety School Of Acting teach you the whys and hows of acting. I travelled twice
weekly to Dublin and back to Longford. Now I am studying in Bow street acting school of acting.
Great experience and knowledge where before i just did it, now i know and understand what i am doing and why.
I absolutely love it, have great passion for acting. It's a big commitment, when you put so much into it your time, and energy.
other work i have done, Ripper Street, Penny Dreadful, Vikings, Skoda Advert, Vodafone Advert.
Also there is other aspects of life you have to do to help your acting. I studied and received a diploma in Digital Marketing and
Social Media Marketing.
There is misconception out there, about acting. People, have the idea, it's all pretending. it is a lot more than that its more truthful. and audience
knows when acting is not done right, the actor makes all the circumstance come true, you believe in it you follow it, before you know it's over,
that's a great measure for any acting, when the time flys by.
And with differences with acting in theatre and screen. Theatre, it's more about the body movements, you have to convey same message you want via voice
also through body language, you have to think of the people on the back row.
In screenplay, it's all in the fae, more still. mistakes can be more evident, via, facial expression. like if you're thinking of your lines, people can see that.
if you enjoy something follow it up, if you dont, its a shame as life will pass you by. Don't let anybody put you down. I find people who have traveled abroad,
gives them a greater open mind, nobody tells you to hold back. In Ireland, it is full of begrudgers, but remember only person stop you is you in this life
