Bumped into this gentleman and had a good chat, had to ask for a portrait with his rarely seen style these days, as you see he wears it well. Milo is originally from County Waterford, and moved to and worked in Dublin for 30 years, a job which he liked and helped many. Lucky enough to retire early, and decided and why not to enjoy a warmer climate, he went to Portugal for a few years. Wanted to come back and settle in Ireland, and found great value in a good market for a buyer and decided to settle in Longford. Already settled in a few years, you will see him day in day walking his wee dog Monty and himself dressed as fine as this. Monty by the way he told me was a rescue he was got kindly off a local Saint Hillary Robinson, who not only looks after the dog pound, where now with Hillary's input, no dog is put down, and many many re-homed, via different charity's as well as walk ins to the pound, where all are welcome, don't buy re-home, the pound has regular visitors that visit the dogs and walk them too. Hillary also has a great equine charity Hungry Horse Outside, where volunteers are welcome, with lovely partner Mick and family and many volunteers run a great and very much needed charity for mainly equine but also others she would never turn any animal away. Milo told me that Monty he got of Hillary was left in a field tied with a rope to fend for himself, he was six years old at the time, Milo has Monty 3 years now, a very friendly dog, but like many dogs has a taste for cars and motorbikes, barking at them, but fair play to Milo for what he done, and fair play for being original with dress sense. Thanks for the chat and best wishes with settling well into the town
Culture Night Longford 2020 18th Sept
, Watch live and enjoy Culture night Longford, I was a participant making a short movie for Lumin-X curated by Local Shane Crossan. There is many things on offer and all free and available to view on the Longford Creative Culture page live on the nigh, link below via photo of said page. Grateful to be part of anything creative and local is a bonus, with Lumin-X film makers were paired off with musicians and sound guys, mine was the very talented Shane Kennedy, likes country, blues and folk. its an abstract poetic self reflexive piece that also contains elements of a recent open project I am working on, called 'Remembering Place', you can see images from that project on Instagram and soon on Photographs on this website.
